Artist reflect
The goal of this art project was to take an organic object and make it either five or ten times as big depending on how big it was already. Mine was originally rather small so I had to make it ten times as big; which still wasn't that big, but oh well. In order to do this, I had to carefully measure my tomato looking thingy. I had to find out the circumference, height, and length of the leaves in order to be accurate. It really had to think out how I was going to shade it in order to match the measurements I had calculated. It doesn't match the measurements exactly, but I think it was close enough.
Artist solve problems
I made a pretty big mistake when I was finishing up this piece. In order to make my piece more round, I used a lot of water to smooth it out, thinking it would do no harm. That was until I unwrapped it the next day and found it like this. I also noticed how thin it was. Even thought I worked hard on it only to have it cave in on itself, I didn't want to give up on it. I remade the sphere and used my previous mistakes to help make it better. I made it thicker and used very little water when smoothing it out. The current sphere now holds better and I am more satisfied with the new one. |
